Join us for the 11th (??? And Last???) annual SIR 200K and chili feed hosted by the Coxes. We would like to go out with a record participation.  So if you make one ride, make this one!

Come and enjoy a ride that features views of the Sound, quiet roads, and a trek into the foot-hills of Mt. Rainier all within 200K. If that's not enough, you can bank on a stop at Black Diamond and its famous bakery and a trip (or two) up your favorite Kent East Hill!

 Special Instructions:

This is the first official distance brevet of the year so please be prepared. Fenders are a must or you'll face the scorn and abuse of your fellow Randonneurs! This is a good time to try out lights, bags, racks, food, etc.

Please note that this year's ride is earlier in the season and the probable overcast skies makes the potential for finishing in the dark much higher than in past years. ALL Riders are STRONGLY encouraged to bring a front light and are REQUIRED to have a rear light!

End of the ride: One thing won't change this year. We will of course be hosting the famous chili feed at the end of the ride! Please join us (spouses welcome) for an end of the ride party. We will have home made chili, snacks, refreshments, etc. If you want to clean up after the ride, please bring your own towel.

 Special Announcement:

This is a special year.  We are pairing the 200k with a fundraiser for Pat Rodden.

Pat was one of the early Randonneuring pioneers.  He successfully completed PBP in 1991 and 1995 before SIR and RUSA were established.  Pat suffered a severe head injury last April falling from a ladder.  He sustained traumatic head and brain injuries in the fall, and is facing many months of recovery. In addition to his family's loss of income, Pat’s family is facing large medical expenses. Every single donation, large or small, will help Pat, his wife and their two young daughters deal with the financial challenges that they are facing. You will see an optional donation box on the pre-registration site that will make it easy to donate.

You can get updates on Pat's recovery at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rodden
