Slava Ukraini
In the face of continued suffering in war-torn Ukraine, and under the guidance of the Audax Club Parisien (ACP), randonneuring clubs throughout the world are being asked to schedule a 200K or a 300K ride in October and designate it as a Ukraine Support ride. The funds collected from these rides would be used to support the Ukrainian war effort. The results would be homologated to ACP by the Ukrainian Mariupol/Lviv randonneur club, representing a city that has been especially hard hit by the Russian onslaught.
To show our support for Ukraine, RUSA is coordinating with the Mariupol/Lviv club to provide a way for RUSA randonneurs to Support Ukraine by utilizing our current ride recording structure to make it easy for riders and RBAs to participate.
Your $10 ride fee goes entirely to the Ukraine effort. RUSA is covering the cost of the waivers and SIR will cover any additional costs. If you have any questions please contact the ride organizer.
Spring 200K Pre-Ride Notes from Matt Close
This is a great route with a nice mix of bike trails, rural roads, and numerous options for food stops along the way. There are opportunities to stock up in Snohomish (mile 16), Granite Falls (mile 39), Sultan (mile 62), and of course Sandy’s in Carnation (mile 98). There will be refreshments at the staffed control at End of Mann (mile 67.5).
A couple words of caution, after the climb up Woodinville-Duvall Road, you’ll turn left onto 156th AVE NE. Be careful along this road as there are steel plates on the road where they are doing some construction. If it is damp on Saturday, these will be slippery, and they have some pretty abrupt edges. Also, at the end of the ride as you make your way from the sports fields over to Sumerian Brewing, there are construction plates and new curbing that require your attention. With the predicted rain this week, we’ll be keeping an eye on a few of the roads that are prone to flooding. Check back the night before the ride for the latest route.
Finish
The finish will be 1.1 miles (1.8 km) away from the start at Sumerian Brewing Company
15510 Redmond-Woodinville Rd NE e110, Woodinville, WA 98072
Parking
Parking is available at the start (Northshore Athletic Fields) and the finish (Sumerian Brewing Company). For those choosing to park at the finish, please do not park near businesses in spaces that are more convenient for walking customers. As a general recommendation, avoid storing things of value in your car, certainly not visible.
