SIR will host an informal Q&A about the 2019 Paris-Brest-Paris on Sunday January 27 at Chainline Brewing in Kirkland at 2PM.

Although we’ll keep the discussion informal and all are invited to contribute, we have assembled an all-star panel of Ron Himschoot, Ana Martins, Rose Pantley, Mark Roberts, Theo Roffe, and Jeff Tilden.

We will try to cover at least the following topics suggested to date:

  • Start time choices - 80h/90h/84h
  • Finish vs AB/HD - key factors
  • PBP from a woman’s perspective
  • Sleep strategies/options
  • Pacing
  • Equipment - including:
    • Maintenance
    • Electronics and lights and how to keep them powered for a 1200k
  • Staying sharp between qualifiers and PBP
  • Deciphering the PBP cue sheet

As homework, please read (or read) the greatest piece of literature ever written by a Seattle lawyer about PBP (Jeff Tilden) - http://www.rusa64.com/rando/ForAnne.pdf (18MB) (or http://www.rusa64.com/rando/ForAnne_LoRes.pdf for quicker download).

Please contact Mark or Theo with any questions that you want to make sure we cover at the session. (Otherwise panel will just BS extemporaneously).
