If you see this on a desktop web browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc on a Mac, Windows, etc), then something is amiss. There's a strange interaction going on between some browsers (especially running in private/incognito mode or with enhanced tracking protection enabled) and Club Express. Until we devise a proper fix, you can work around this problem by:
- Click here to open the SIR home page in a new tab.
- Click the blue "Member Login" link in the upper right corner.
- Enter your name and password, then click the big blue "Login" button.
- Come back to this tab (you can close the home page tab if you wish) and refresh this page.
- Hopefully all is well and you can continue with the waiver and registration process.
If you see this on a mobile device (phone or tablet) then you probably got here by clicking a link within Facebook. Our registration process does not work with the Facebook IOS integrated web browser. You'll need to open this page in a "real" (native) browser:
-
Click the ellipses (three dots) in the upper right corner of this window. You may need to scroll the page up and down slightly to encourage the ellipses to appear at the top of the screen.
-
Click "Open in external browser" in the popup menu.
-
Continue with the waiver and registration process.
RUSA Route #3834 "2026 Brevet Week 200K"
Pre-Ride Report by Andy Speier
Ricky and I met up and started at 8:00 AM. You head north on Capitol Way but only for a few blocks before you get off and wind around Capitol Lake. At just under 3 KM you’ll make a left and head up the “Courthouse Hill”. I told Rick it was the steepest hill of the day. Ok, maybe I was wrong but it sounded good at the time (Bordeaux is steeper and longer). You’ll get on Black Lake Blvd and ride along the lake. A short climb will take you to Delphi Road. An easy pedal for 3 KM and you will peel off to the right onto Waddel Creek Road. A slight climb (enjoy the pavement, it used to be gravel years ago) and then a nice descent into Capitol Forest. Bear left to stay on Waddell Creek Road just after the control. You’ll turn right on Bordeaux Rd.
The climb starts soon after. Bear right to turn onto D-Line. It climbs and winds a bit. When you see the gravel you are at the top. Don’t worry the entire route is paved. There’s gravel at the intersection of the top hill. The descent down Bordeaux and D-Line is great. Cool and shaded in the trees. The pavement is nice... except for the pot holes. Keep your eyes peeled when you are in the shadows.
Of course there is always a bit more and before you hit Hwy 12 there is a short climb to get you up and over to Hwy 12. It is 11 KM on Hwy 12 BUT there is a great shoulder. The great shoulder ends less than 1 KM from Porter. (Welcome to Grays Harbor County) This will be a staffed control with water and snacks at 61 KM. Fill up those water bottles because other than asking a farmer to fill your bottle from their water hose there are no services for water/snacks until 119 KM.
The route takes you from Grays Harbor into Lewis County. Great views and rolling hills.
As you enter the Willapa Trail there is a pit toilet. At the 119.2 KM control there is a convenience store. Off Hwy 6 onto So Schueber Rd. Low to no traffic. If you’ve not ridden here before, be sure to familiarize yourself with the cue sheet as you enter Centralia at 128.5 KM. Get on the sidewalk to go under the freeway (the street is one-way the wrong way for just a block). You’ll wind around on the residential streets for a bit before turning onto Pearl Street which has some services.
You’re on Hwy 507 but quickly turn off on Big Hanaford Rd. You’ll pass the power plant and will see few cars for a while. There is a slight out and back with a climb (easy) that allows you to coast back to where you turned. As you turn onto Tono Road you are re-entering Thurston County. The Tono Hill is the last real climb of the day. Tono was in the heart of a mining area. In 1920 Tono was a settlement of 1000 residents, 125 houses, a general store, post office, hotel, hospital and a school. You’ll come upon the location of the old settlement after cresting the first hill and descending into the valley. Of course then there is the second half of the climb. From there it’s a nice descent into downtown Bucoda. At 162.5 KM you will be in downtown Bucoda. Rick tells me that they have great burgers, fries and beer. We did not stop in as we wanted to get home (it was our wedding anniversary so I had to get home to take Renee out for dinner).
At 168.8 KM you’ll get on the Yelm-Tenino Trail. The home stretch. Don’t forget to turn off onto the Chehalis Western Trail at 179.7 KM. At 188.6 KM you’ll leave the trail and get on Waldrick Road. At 192.9 KM you will get onto Highway 99. The shoulder is narrow. 99 becomes Capitol Way. Pay attention in the roundabout as it is fairly new and local drivers are not quite used to negotiating it. The La Quinta will be on your right with a minute or two. Well done.
