Long ride on the shortest day of the year this year?
We are once again holding our Solstice Populaire (100km) on Friday night Dec 21.
Leave from AAA Headquarters in Factoria at 8:00 PM. See Christmas lights in Bellevue, Renton, Maple Valley, Issaquah, Redmond and Woodinville. Over half of the route is on trails including Cedar River, Eastside Rail Corridor, East Lake Sammamish, and Sammamish River. There will be cookies at the start, and a warm-up control about 20 miles along in Maple Valley.
Everyone is welcome to use the AAA locker room and showers after the ride. Towel service is provided. (Riders from the 2018 Summer 600k seemed to enjoy this little perk).
Preregistration is open until Wednesday evening Dec 19. Your early preregistration helps the organizers plan their baking. There is no fee for this ride, and no membership is required.
Lights and reflective gear are required, however.
