- As this ride is self-supported and the organizer is riding along, we will not be able to accommodate same-day registrations.
Run as a fully self-supported ride, this brevet will be a north-south double traverse of western Washington. The ride will start in Olympia and head north to (but not across) the Canadian border and turn around in Blaine to the first overnight in Bellingham. The second day will return south to Olympia following a different route and will overnight at the start. The final day will continue south to (but not across) the Oregon border in Longview and then return on a different route back to the start in Olympia.
With hills kept to a relative minimum and plentiful services, this route lends itself to a self-supported ride. There will be sections of urban riding as well as some classic scenic highlights along Chuckanut Drive and the Cowlitz River. Lights and reflective gear are required for all riders.
As this is a self-supported ride, you will have to book your own accommodations at the overnight controls.
The first overnight control is in Bellingham, Washington at the Best Western Heritage Inn on McLeod Rd (~384 km). We won't have dinner or breakfast for you, but there is a 24-hour Denny's in the same parking lot as the hotel.
The second overnight control will be at the La Quinta in Tumwater (same location as start/finish; ~738 km).
