Night-Start 400

To preregister: sign in to your SIR member account. Don't have one? Create one. It's free!
Then the Preregister Now button will be visible on the right side of this page (or bottom for mobile browsers).

Cost of this brevet is:
  • $45 with online preregistration and prepayment before Thursday, July 11, at 8 PM (Pacific Time)
  • $60 for non-preregistered riders; that is, those who register and pay at the start

Get your evening start and night riding practice before PBP. This 400K features the same starting time as the I-wave 90-hour goup at PBP—close to the starting time of many SIR riders. Beginning at the cafe in Rambouillet—sorry, Beginning at the Starbucks in Redmond (address below), this route has plenty of rolling hills and back roads with one bigger climb up to Baker Lake. While services are limited and SIR-staffing is light, you might try imagining applause and accordions, placing yourself on the Roc'h Trevezel of the Armorican Massif in Brittany's Monts d'Arrée, not the foothills of Mount Baker in Washington state's Cascades. Come PBP, you'll be prepped and ready to ride through the first night and on to Brest.

Registration/Sign-in: 5:30 PM at the start.

Start: July 12, 6:00 PM at Starbucks 17196 NE, Redmond Way, Redmond

Finish: Starbucks 17196 NE, Redmond Way, Redmond

Fenders: If the weather is inclement you will make more friends if your bicycle has fenders with effective buddy flaps vs. no fender, no buddy flaps, or fake buddy flaps. You never know in summer…

Lighting and Reflective Gear: required for this ride. You will be riding in the dark. At the start, have your front and rear lights on the bike and wear your reflective vest and ankle bands.
RUSA Membership: not required, but is strongly recommended especially if you are using this ACP Brevet to qualify for an award.

For all SIR events you must have front and rear lights, a reflective vest, and reflective ankle bands. Be prepared to show these to the ride organizer at the start. Your lights should be on during any low-light conditions (rain storms, night, tunnels).

You must read and agree to a waiver before beginning the ride, and you must turn in your signed brevet card at the end of the ride. If you will not finish, contact the organizer using the phone number on the card and cue sheet.
